Tackle It Tuesday

Today's tackle was Birthday prep

Miss Calleigh's 1st bday party is this weekend along with cousin Lexi's 3rd bday party. Yep one big ol combined party for both girls, hey we like to make it easy.

Alicia bought/ordered Lexi's cake, but I'm making Calleigh's smash cake myself.

So today was just about organization and getting everything ready.

I wrapped two gifts (The others are already at the party house -- aka Nana's (my mom)) I set out the things I needed to remember to take with me.

I'll bake the cake friday night and decorate saturday morning. SO excited!

Another Lunch!

Miss Caity ate lunch at school 3 days this week. So I only made her lunch two days. I forgot to snap a pic of yesterdays lunch. So today's will have to suffice.

She has  Homemade strawberry fig jelly on a tortilla, almonds, cinnamon pickles, corn nuggets, and hot dog (octo dogs as she requested) and a Yummy earth organic sucker for dessert.

Packed in a Sassy container

Isabella has lunch (snack really) packed in my box.

Pink tier -- Strawberry fig jelly on a tortilla, cut up into smaller pieces.  Sucker for dessert.
White tier -- Pickle, almonds (and I added some cheerios this morning)

Linking up to Shannon's What's for Lunch

ETA:  Both girls took watermlon as a sidecar.

I'm trying to take pics of lunches every day, but sometimes I forget when mornings get too busy.

Well, I'm sorry. I can't be wordless today.

This is my baby's first picture as a TODDLER!

She still looks like a baby to me though. She'll always be my baby.

A Year In The Life

How About Love?

Measure In Love

And Oh how we have loved sweet little YOU.

One year ago today at precisely 12:04 P.M. you arrived

Our sweet baby girl.  Number 3.  The last.   What a joy you have been. What marvelous memories you have brought to each and every one of us.

As you turn one, I wish many many things.  I wish you a lifetime full of happy times, I wish you multitudes of laughter. Enumerous moments of joy.  And everything your little heart can dream.

But most of all Dear Calleigh,  I want you to enjoy life.  Enjoy it always.  Life to the fullest.  Laugh in the face of difficulty, Cry when you have too and always know you have your Mama to turn to.

I love you, sweet girl.  You completed our family and I couldn't imagine life without you in it.

We did an experiment a couple weeks ago.

When it was in triple digit temps we set out some trays of broken crayons in the sun.

They melted (of course) and we got new crayons.

The girls thought it was SO fun!

We also did teddy bears, but I apparently didn't upload that picture yet!

Tackle It tuesday -- SCHOOL

This weeks tackle is school related!

I filled out all of the paperwork for Big C's school. And I also have been getting things ready for our homeschool preschool for Miss Isabella.

We are using many things as our "curriculum" including starfall, letter of the week, and a few non-internet sources.

Here's some of our stuff for the first 2 weeks. I won't start our actual work until after Labor day. And I plan to have at least the first 4 weeks worth of stuff printed out/organized and ready to go by then.

Schools Back in session

Miss Caity started back yesterday. Big Day for her! First day in First grade. She was super duper happy.

Back to school means something else to me, Lunches! Yes, I have to pack her lunch (she occasionally eats at the cafeteria).

So here are the lunches in our new awesome bento-ish containers from the Disney store! (3 for $12, can't beat that anywhere else local)This week is just leftovers and random stuff we had at home.  We just returned from vacation Wednesday night and I haven't been grocery shopping yet.

First Up is Caity's lunch in her Ariel container.

In the Top tier, we have an egg, a tomato (fresh from our vines) and some leftover chicken  (baked, not fried)

and In the lower tier, Broccoli and Rice.

She also took a sidecar of teddy grahams.

Miss Isabella has a lovely Tinkerbell container.

In it, On the top is rice and an egg. Bottom is broccoli, fried okra, and a corn nugget.

and last is Miss Calleigh's.  Princess container (of Course)

It contains rice, broccoli and a few small pieces of fried okra (she loves okra)

P.S. Don't mind the rice on the babies highchair, it was actually a small spill when a certain 3 year old was helping me pack her lunch.

A Tardy Wordless Wednesday

One Week (6 days) until My baby is the big ONE!

Sorry we had a slight delay, we made it in from our trip a few hours later than I had expected and I barely touched my PC last night.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from month 1 through 11

Busy Week

This week is a busy one. Lots of last minute stuff for summer's end.

Jay has a last minute work trip he has to take. So I'm packing for that.

School starts next week for Lil Miss so I'm getting the last minute needs for that.

We leave Sunday afternoon for a quick trip to Memphis for some fun before school starts, so I'm packing for that.

ANd finally Birthday party plans are heavily underway and I need to practice my cake making skills! I want to do this for Miss Calleigh (well something similar)

Wordless Wednesday

Ok so not really wordless. Sue me! (please don't)

My baby turns one in 3 weeks and its super hard to believe. So for the next few weeks, WW will be devoted to remembering the last year.

Of course the obvious place to start is....

THE BELLY!

My favorites.

I seem to take a ton of pictures in the summer. I haven't shared any in a while and I'm still seriously behind on the 365 challenge. But Here are my current favorite shots from this summer.

Yes, as you can see, the big 6 year old, rarely stays still for any pictures.

School. Vacation. Summer's end.

Caitlyn starts back to school (1st grade!) Aug. 19th. 13 short days. Or long days. Depending how you look at it.

If you look at it from the annoying sister angle, they are super duper long. Just ask both of her little sisters who are currently screaming because they don't wanna do/play/say what she wants them too.

Before school starts though, and I mean right before, we're gonna take a little trip to Memphis. On our list, the zoo, Pink Palace, The Botanical gardens. Possibly CMOM.

Oh and Wolfchase. Yes, mama is going shopping.

We'll be gone for 3 days.

Please pray we all survive the 3.5 hour drive with 3 girls. LOL

I'm sad to see summer coming to an end in one sense. In another, I'll be happy to say bye bye to the triple digit heatwave of late. 109 degrees is SO not acceptable.

It's good though, because we seem to have a more structured setting when school is in session. This year we will work on getting Miss Izzie Bee ready for school by doing some home school preschool. We teach her about things in daily life. We use the world as our school book. Oh and this year, we're adding some more structure to that thanks to learning aids from Target (Thanks again Rachel!), Oriental trading, and even online printouts.
